Applications are now open for the Postgraduate Certificate in Psychospiritual Care, run jointly by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Oxford Brookes University. The next cohort will begin in September 2024.

 

The course brings together health and social-care staff of different backgrounds united by a shared interest in offering psychologically-informed spiritual and holistic care to service users, patients, or their client group.

The course aims to support the development of an effective, holistic and inclusive cross-disciplinary approach to health and social care whereby practitioners with different roles are able to work collaboratively to understand the complex, significant relationships between their patients’ and clients’ medical, therapeutic and spiritual needs.

 

Course content is aimed at registered health and care practitioners from a wide variety of professions, including nursing, midwifery, allied health care, chaplaincy, psychology, counselling and psychotherapy, psychiatry, and social work roles.

  • Practical and accessible training in psychologically-informed spiritual care for health and social care professionals of all cultures, faith and beliefs;
  • Taught by educators and leaders within Oxford Health NHS Trust in partnership with Oxford Brookes University over one academic year via a series of study days (usually Thursdays)

and supported personal study;

  • Level 7 (60 credits, resulting in a Postgraduate Certificate. It can be combined with other Level 7 modules to lead to a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters);
  • Next cohort begins September 2024 (closing date for applications is 1st July 2024).
